Ihave a 95 with low mile I just purchased a couple of months ago.I was curious about the noise coming from the speedo,I have read that the older model cables weren't nylon lined.Does anyone know if the newer ones are nylon lined and if that helps with the noise?

Some one slap me if I'm being silly, but I've read if they are nylon lined, lubricating them can damage the nylon and while it will initially appear the lube helped, it will eventually damage the nylon and poor performance from the cable housing will result. I don't know if it is nylon lined though.

Bikebandit.com has speedo cables for about $20 Their number:1152897

Sanjoseyamaha.com has them for about $13.34 plus S&H (Local will call no chg.) Part number: 1JN-83550-02-00

While changing my front tire the speedocable slipped out of the housing. It was covered in grease.
