If you like variety this is a nice time of year for riding around here. Bit of dust, mud and snow can be had on most rides into the nearby national forest. Snow still locks us out of the high sierras for some time to come but these mid-elevations have a nice mix of conditions

Nice mix of conditions. Mr Gizmo's bike seems to have some pretty snappy acceleration. What gearing is on that bike?

Gearing?
Shucks Tom, I don’t know. I just ride the darn thing.:p
14 up front and 47/55 dual sprockets in the rear I think. Could be something else as Gerry was pretty creative with his test bed of a TW. Chain is on larger sprocket for this video but gearing is still too road oriented for the rocky stuff in my opinion.
Ask me again in a week after I install some nice parts all laid out on the bench ready to go.... 13/15 dual front sprocket, new cover gasket and just maybe Gerry’s custom left side cover that feeds oil to a secondary oil cooler. Don’t need the second cooler but it seems a shame not to pay homage to some innovative thinking brought to fruition.

EDIT: Upon closer inspection Gerry made me a 13/15 tooth dual front sprocket. Didn’t make me a de-railer to go along with it for those speedy drive ratio changes though.

I bet that was a workout. You looked to be working hard in the mud and snow sections in particular! Pretty mucky up here in the high country and will be for quite some time this year.

I’ve been spoiled by the other bike’s Duro Power Grip tire and low gearing so was unprepared for when the more stock Mr.Gizmo’s TrailWing started sinking and wallowing in the soft muds. Was not in my best form, still hurting and healing. Been working on rebuilding core strength but certainly still out of shape, and noticably out of practice and thus confidence.

Nice, I gather the foots feeling better. I'm not riding yet, but am wearing shoes and walking. Amazing how you get so out of shape when all you can do is sit for a month.

Dwight, I believe we could chose the desired moisture content now by simply selecting the right elevation.:)
Things are dry at a mile high but snowed in around 6,000 in shady areas and on north facing slopes and 7,000 or so on south facing slopes.
