***WEATHER UPDATE*** Some areas OC / LA will see some rain on Saturday. I can tell you from my 7 years living in the desert that we won't be getting much IF any BUT we will be going through some micro-climates and so it is possible. If we were, it would be in the amount of 1/8 of an inch! We only get 5" per year. Weather.com shows that we only have a 40 to 50% chance (as reported on today, Friday). If you get some rain, I can also tell you that it typically stops at the pass as you drop into the Palm Springs area. Bottom line: The RIDE IS ON! Plus, it will be yet another "fun" experience if we do get some rain!
Ok So. Cal. Tdubers, we have set the dates of November 19, 20, 21 as a ride time here in the Palm Springs / Desert Hot Springs - Joshua Tree area of the Coachella Valley.
My wife and I own Living Waters Spa (www.LivingWatersSpa.com) and we'd love to host a "stay and ride" weekend. You could come for the whole weekend and stay here at the spa OR just come for a day... If you'd like to stay overnight we'd give our Tdubers a hefty discount of 45% on room rates. And yes, you could bring your partner and they could stay at the spa while you ride! Just know that our spa is European-style: I.e. swimsuit optional. Please see our website for details about our spa.
The rides are as follows:
Friday Nov. 19: 12:00 noon: ride up one of the local canyons and enjoy the sights. This will be a great warm up ride. We hope to come back to the spa before dark and enjoy some Pizza.
Saturday Nov. 20: 8:00am ride to Berdoo Canyon. We'll see the ruins of the Berdoo Camp where in the 1930s workers on the Colorado River Aqueduct stayed while working on the Aqueduct. We'll get all the way into Joshua Tree (4,200 ft). And depending on how many have extra gas, we could spend some time exploring even more like Keys View. We'd return to the spa around 3:00pm.
Sunday Nov.21: 9:00am 9:00am ride to ????. We have so many places we can explore. We'll just see where people want to ride. Return to the spa around ???
I'll lead the rides and I'm NOT a fast rider. I'm an explorer and love to enjoy the views, etc. etc. Also, I'm not a party-n-ride person, nor is our spa a party place.
If you'd like to join the ride, please give our Spa a call and ask for me (Jeff). I think we'll have a wonderful weekend with several cool rides and wonderful mineral water pools to soak our tired butts in when we are done!
Please see our Spa website for how to get here... any questions, just call me.
Awwwe, what does Atlanta have that we don't? <grin> We'll miss you and I think this might be the first ride that you missed... Next one will be in June.

Wanted to get out for a ride but wasn't able to till later in the afternoon. I decided I would just take a quick jaunt along some local service roads. Definitely wouldn't say it was warm out haha.
MY NEW TO ME 2016 YAMAHA TW200
Hello TW200FORUM from Southern California!!!
I've been lurking here for a while and finally pulled the trigger on the T-DUB!
I was talking with a buddy of mine about these cool bikes as I've been following them via the TW200 THREAD ON ADVRider.com
In talking...
I’ve talked before about my frustrations on the overall lack of places to ride in SE Texas, especially considering the size of Texas. But it’s almost all private property.
Well I took a trip to central Texas (near Mason) and found a road that reminded why I bought the T-Dub...60+ miles of...
