Hi. New member here. I have a 93 TW with 6500 miles. It is in amazing shape. It seems to have been very well kept. I have owned it since 10/15. There seems to be a noticeable detent when the steering is centered. Is this normal? The steering/bearings seem smooth otherwise. Thanks.

Thanks everyone. I replaced the bearings. I took the stem to a shop to have them press the old bottom bearing off and press the new one on. I didn't want to damage the stem and it was only $20.00. I had never done this particular job before so now that I have I am not afraid of it. Steering is much, much better now. Replaced both tires while I was at it and the bike was hanging from a rafter. Tires looked OK but since they were original from 1993 I thought it was a pretty good idea.

Hey congrats. I hope you have been lurking and put a good front tire on and not the trail wing?
