So, I notice that third gear sometimes doesn't like to engage. Fire off in 1st, shift to 2nd, then third I often have to really pull the clutch in and then make a more calculate toe movement to get 3rd to lock in. Is this normal for the TW or does my clutch cable need some fine adjusting?



And what is the best process for adjusting the clutch at the lever?

I've had no issues with my 09......do you have this issue in 4th or 5th?. I believe the manual advised to do adjustments at the adjuster closest to the case first....then if you cannot get it just right,move on to the lever......If I recall correctly. Good luck!.

Yeah, its only 3rd gear. Everything else is smooth.



So, what is the process for adjusting at the lever? Just loosen the jamb nut and go from there? I'm sure it isn't too complicated, and I am sure it is because I had the whole bike apart...

Generally,loosen the lock nut and then move the adjuster (forget which direction for less or more slack?)....retighten the lock nut,then check slack at the lever....repeat if necessary.
