Stock muffler question

Is the factory muffler supposed to have any baffles in it besides the spark arrester screen and little propeller blade looking thing welded to the back of the end cap? Mine is hollow like the insides burnt out but I don't see how that could happen in 1700 miles. I would like to make mine quieter but I don't see we're I could put any packing as there is no core pipe.

They are quiet, but I wanted to see if I could mute the "putt, putt, putt" a bit. I fabricated an add on silencer. Seems to work pretty good and did not impact performance as near as I can tell. I still manage to go fast enough to fall over
