Ive got an 87 tw200. I was wondering if plastics and the fuel tank from a newer model would mount up correctly? I've seen a couple newer tanks for sale on ebay that look like they have the same mounts. The front fender and rest of the plastics as well? Thanks!

Yes, they will fit on your 87, I recently did the same to my 87. California tank may be different than others, keep this in mind while shopping on eBay.

Thanks for the reply. Any idea whats different on a California model tank? I'm in California but no clue on if mine is a CA model. How much newer were the plastics you used? I found a set from an 04 for sale. Look the same to me. Thanks again

Lifted, All plastics will fit. You choose the color. All tanks will fit, but CA tanks have a nipple for a breather vent which you merely need to attach a fuel line too and allow it to vent below your bike (if you don't have a CA bike now). If you do, the latter goes to the sniffer can. Sniff around using the search function for further details. Tom

FYI, the newer tanks have a different cap. Its a little smaller, so an 87 fuel cap will not fit a 2001 or newer tank and vice versa.
