A little rainy with a bunch of lightning tossed in but the view sure is great from 9000 camp overlooking base of Sonora Pass and the Marine’s Mountain Warfare training facility

Boarder255, Adam-in- Nevada and I all summited 11,000 ft plus Mt. Paterson this afternoon with just a bit of wheezing from the bikes. Full fun day of lengthy challenging single tracks, water crossings and steep ascents. Blueberry pie, campfire and dinner and everyone seems ready for a nap.

Looks like the clouds are having a party. Very cool. :D

Turn the party lights down low

Awesome!

Admiral has also been there, maybe not quite the summit since were hiding from thunderstorms in a old mine shack at 11,000 the last Group Ride . We got chased off summit to the lower stone cabin by a bit of rain yesterday too. Awesome ride. Still lots of wildflowers too. Some impressive singletrackery too, may need a fall color ride here in the aspens down on the lower moist drainages

Found another canyon needing to be explored plus a bit more flowery single track...flowery everything come to think of it. 46FC8A1A-1CB9-4B2E-B4C8-6150D5F83386_1565217090150.jpeg 99755AC2-3072-432E-B23F-6BC7E375C882_1565216976916.jpeg 613A9875-BA10-48A1-81D1-45FD00F4BB2D_1565217164605.jpeg 09D084C6-87FC-427E-9F5A-3EFB60960C8D_1565217223590.jpg

Fun riding on what seems to be the top of the world if it wasn’t for the occasional threat of lightning.
Fortunately there is an old mine office down a side canyon around 11,000 ft. that can offer a bit of shelter.
Not perfect, building’s wall is trying to fall down the canyon creating some daylight. Still any port in a storm is probably better than hanging around a metal flagpole on the summit with a bunch of motorcycles.

We came across two bicyclists fairly up high. I was extremely impressed until I realized they were electric assisted. Then I was only very impressed. The air is a little rarified up there for serious peddling. Usually fairly steep too.
