Hellow.

My nipple has busted! I must have done it up too tight. Sadly, the bottom of the thread is stuck in the swingarm. It seems I can't currently find a photo, but just the thread of the nipple is stuck in the swingarm....

How do you suggest I remove it, or not?

I figure if I drill it out, I may get metal shards in there. So my current thinking is to fill it with grease and put some Blu-Tak on top of it. Not sure how else to get around this one for now.

All help appreciated.

Cheers,

Rob.

Hmm, someone may have a more elegant solution, but the first thing I'd try is an 'ez-out' or screw extractor. That's such a big hole you already have to work with, the extractor may grab it pretty easily and back the nipple out without getting many (if any) metal shavings in there...

Good luck!

Along the same line as a screw extractor, you can buy a left hand drill bit. It would have to be a size just lager than the hole in your grease zerk, but not large enough to catch the threads on the swing arm. In that limited space, you would probably need a hand tool, similar to the handle on the screw extractor treybrad pictures or you may have to remove the rear tire to get a drill in there...as you drill (in reverse of course) the bit 'could' , 'may', 'it has happened before', grab enough to back out the zerk... or what's left of it. Either way, go slow and good luck
