Hey everyone, I am new to this form, I just bought my first bike and it was a 2010 TW. Paid 3gs, but it only had 850 miles on it and still looked brand new. Anywho, wondering if anyone has installed a tachometer? If so, what kind and how?

I believe some have. I haven't done this myself, but you could look into http://trailtech.net/vapor.html. Would replace the speedo too though.

You have to set it for the correct spark count. Tdubs have a "wasted" spark so you need have it count accordingly, but set up is easy and the directions are clear.

I got a small one on E-bay for a lawn mower, it is also a hour meter, I used a strip of double back tape. Get the tape made by 3M, I put it on top of the speed meter, It is small 11/2X 1. Only needs to wrap one wire from unit around spark plug wire. When I go 50 MPH It showes that 5500 RPM. At 64. MPH 7700 , I only cost $10 with shipping!

Trailtech TTO works well on my TW.....get the mounting kit also,saves alot of BS when mounting.

I've bought 2 different ones, both junk. One was not programmable, so read double. The other seems to saturate or something, it is rarely anywhere near right...
