Hi X,

I am usually in FL the first week of each month. When you firm up your plans, send me a PM, and I'll see if I can make arrangements for someone else to take care of business.

I pass by Hunt's Motorcycle campground every time I ride to Tellico Plains but haven't stayed there.

There are two other motorcycle campgrounds near Tellico Plains, and a KOA.

There's also Crawford's Campground north of Murphy. That's where CaptD stays when he's in the area. But it is an hour's ride to Tellico, although a very nice ride.

Jerry and Longroof haven't posted on the forum in quite a while.

It would be nice to have another east coast TW group ride.

J.B. Thank's! As the time gets closer I'll let you know what our final plans are. As it looks right now we will be camping out at our land in Riceville and I'm going to keep the 9TH. open for riding with a starting point in Tellico Plains.

HI Xracer. I haven't been on for awhile, but longroof and I are still here. It would be great to get together again. I don't have the Gold Wing any more, but still have the TW. I bought a Kawasaki W650 from longroofs son last February. Keep us posted on your plans to be up here.

Jerry. It's good to hear from you. I hope that you and longroof are doing well. That said if you can make it and bring your W-650 do not let me ride it!!! I don't need another bike to lust after. I'm hoping to get a group of riders together that are willing to show us around. As Roe will be riding the Dub hardcore off road is out along with hell bent sport riding. Something more along the lines of a sightseeing tour with maybe some easy forest service roads would be the ticket. I'll keep posting as our plans take shape.

Hi X,

Barring any last minute emergencies, I plan on being available on the 9th, or a day or two before or after.

I've ridden most of the Forest Service roads around Tellico Plains. Whether or not I can remember them is another story.

Many of the roads are passable by car and are easy riding for the TW. I'm not so sure about leading the pack. I usually ride tail gunner on group rides... because I'm the slow guy.

The trails are usually empty during the week. I've ridden all day and not passed another vehicle. During the weekend, especially right after July 4th, there are likely to be more riders, and there may even be some horseback riders on the trails.

I'll map out a couple of routes to choose from.

Any TW'ers in the area are welcome to ride along.

You can PM me if you have any questions.

Looking at the map I'm about the same distance away from Tellico Plains as Riceville is, only in the opposite direction.

J.B. Hope we can get together and I'd be more than happy to meet other Dubber's. I've found out the hard way that my Sprint cell phone won't work in East Tennessee. So the best I can do is keep posting where ever I can.

You can get a Tracfone at W*lmart for $10. and some starter minutes. It works in Tellico Plains.

I rode several of the easy fire roads around Tellico Plains today. They were clear of fallen trees and in good shape. Also rode River Road to Bald River Falls and the fish hatchery. Easy paved riding and the traffic wasn't too bad considering it's a weekend.

Lots of bikes coming and going on the Cherohala.

At my usual 20-30 mph in 3rd gear, the TW got 98.4 mpg. Even allowing for some odometer error, that's pretty good.

Well the bikes,Aliner and truck are ready to go. I just hope I'll be ok. Seems I've got a bad case of the flu! Doc wants to recheck me out mid week to make sure I'm cleared to go. "Oh Well" If worse comes to worse I'll just ride in the back so I won't hit any one with a big brown luggie.

It looks like I'll have to delay our trip for a week! Seems this flu bug is bad and is taking it's time getting out of me. I'd like to replan this ride so I'll post up something as soon as I know whats what.

Hey Xracer. Still have the TW200. Rode it through 7 states plus Ontario Canada last year on a Dub trip. This year I've been riding the Vstar most of the time. It turned 48,000 miles earlier this week. Had the TW out today and it has 42,501 as I parked it in the garage...next to the wife's new 2010 Mustang convertable. We're taking it out to California next week following Route 66. Then up the Pacific Coast to...?

Sure would like to join you on a trip. Maybe next time.

Has this happened or has the date changed? I'm 45 minutes from Tellico Plains and am now a TW owner. I'd be interested in meeting up for a ride.

J.B. I can't thank you enough for showing us around and giving Roe the chance to enjoy herself with out having to worry about riding over her head. Also your pictures all most make me look thin!
