Folks this is not some sort of private ride. I'd like to meet up with anyone who willing to show this Florida boy around. I'm not much up for Black Diamond single track but forest service roads, etc. are just fine. B.T.W. We are in Riceville about 25 miles West from Tellico Plains.
I live between Riceville and Tellico Plains but am a very inexperienced rider just getting close to going for a license. So, no help there. Hope you'll be back again, would love to ride around the forest anytime once I get up to snuff.
Hope your having a great time and missed that electrical storm that just passed through.
With all the work on the cottatge there was not much time for fun but we did get to Cades Cove. The place was a parking lot so we ducked onto Parsons Branch then to the Dragon and then home on the Cherohala. Nothing exciting except this was all done in my wifes 05 Toyota Corolla! She hung on for dear life and said a few prayers as I careened around the corners, splashed through the streams and blasted up the rutted uphills. Then on to the Dragon where I had several cars pull over to let us by. After have a burger and buying a tag frame at the Dragon store ( The Corolla deserved it) it was on to the Cherohala. At this point my wife was calm as I hit 35MPH corners at 60. She even took a nap. Not a bad day even though it was done in a cage.
We were down there the beginning of June. Rode up to Cades Cove
Beautiful, except it was a freakin' parking lot!!!
Are you kidding me??
8 Miles, 9 water crossings on Parson Branch Rd.
Jumped on the Dragon from there...first to Deal's Gap for some BBQ, then back. Got some photos somewhere courtesy of Killboy...Tw's on the Dragon.
Then over Happy Valley road and back to Townsend where we were camping.
PS. There's a couple of spots that would have been a REAL adventure in the Corrolla!
That's the place. Look a deer!!! Lets stop right here and get some pictures. Bear? Lets just jump out of the car and start snapping away. Uuuuhhhh...Honey you did put it in park before you left? Wait..Stop!! I saw a leaf fall. Don't get me wrong it's a very pretty place and the guy who runs the mill tour rides a farkled Dub.
This post is to discuss and plan a ride for folks interested in doing a camp/ride in Easter Mt Rainier National Park and/or Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.
Please let me know if you’re interested, and when you’d be able to make it. If there’s enough interest by folks to do this annually, I...
Adam-in-Nevada and I returned Sunday to sample more of a fairly large ridding area beginning about where we had quit last time outside of the Moon Rocks Area. We've yet to define the boundaries. The variety of terrain there, all hosted in a deeply weathered granite region, made for endless...
I am trying this again. I would like to make the Moab 2020 ride, but I live across the country in the southeast. So, if there is anyone willing and wanting to either caravan, carpool, etc. from around here to there for some epic riding, please let me know. Best case would be a split where we...
Been a member for a while but first post.
I am planning to ride the TAT, or some form of it, across the US on my TW200 summer of 2020. Lots of time to plan.
I've got my 2012 TW, cycleracks, panniers, wide foot pegs, raised bars, bigger front sprocket.
Plan is to fish, camp, drink and go to...
