I love 99.9% of the TW200, but I can't stand the turn signal switch. I am a new rider, and perhaps all bikes have this type of switch, but I screw up turning it off about 50-75% of the time.

-Me at a red light turning left.

-Light turns green, I make the turn.

-Try to switch the turn signal off , went too far, now I am indicating I want to go right, Push back, now I am indicating I want to go left, Push back, now I am indicating I want to go right.....
AH!!!!!!
DAMN YOUR FACE AHHHHHH!
...

You can man handle the rest of the bike, but with the turn signal you have to butterfly kiss it over. So ladies and gents, is there any after market signal switch I can get to make me happy? I saw the Zuma 125 has a signal cancel button on the center of the switch. And would that be hard to change out?

Thank you,

Adam

You're not alone. Mine takes a "deliberate" effort to cancel, too. Darn bean counters shaving $0.50 off the sticker price! Ha!

I push to cancel on mine too. New rider prob didn't realize the "feature".

But yes it's still hard to know if you got it right without looking down at the indicator light.

And since it's on a slide... And it's easier to slide than to push...

The only suggestions would be to flush it out with electronic contact cleaner and then re-grease with electronics grease.

That and add an audible turn signal alarm. Then at least it will be easier to know if you got it right without looking down.

I am jealous I would love a push button to cancel, or even a Left, Center (OFF), Right notches. Not the resetting to center button bull-******-shenanigans.
Is there a European version of the TW200 with a cancel switch? That would be awesome!

My bike is a 2007, perhaps that is the problem.

Ceramite,

You are not alone...turn signal indicator switch sucks as well for me. When I use it. When I ride streets. Which I guess is why my TW is allergic to pavement! ha ha

I'm sure if I rode around town alot I'd be looking for a solution just like you.

Hallelujah!!!!

Thank you guys, I can't wait to get home to try it!!!

Well this means two things:

1. I need an owners manual (and to read it)

2. I 100% love the TW200

Ps. my bike doesn't have reverse switch. (just kidding)

I have two 1987 TW's and neither has the "push to cancel " turn signal feature. However they both have very noticeable detents or clicks I can feel as I slide the switch. I just wish it was self cancelling.

And as long as I am wishing how about 25 more cc and a six speed transmission?

Forget it! I love it the way it is!

my 2011 is push to cancel. there is a very obvious white arrow telling rider to push in. on older tdubs the white paint might be worn away but if you look at and angle you can see where the arrow once was. the white arrow is on the blinker switch.

My 01 is push to cancel, it must be older gen ones that have the slide. My '91 nighthawk 250 has slide to cancel which is the first bike I've had like that, but it's not a big deal, do it a couple times and it sticks in your mind.

Don't hate the bike over something so simple! =p

The tw200 was the first road bike I've ever driven so it took a bit to realize the signal was push to cancel. My DR has a button in the center of the switch so it's a little more clear that's how you stop the signal.
