Ok, so now I've got to go through the motions. I wonder what will be under the tree Christmas morning...

Standing by for phase 2. I just barely beat her home in time to snap a quick pic and sneak it out back to the front porch acting like I never noticed, lol.

Sweet, man! What are you going to get for her? She deserves the best Christmas ever!
She's a kid at heart, instead of one big item, she wants to see lots of presents for her under the tree. But the whole happy wife happy life saying is starting to pan out after 10 years of marriage. Just give her what she wants, and you shall reap a bountiful harvest, lol.

Hang tough! Two weeks isn't bad (though it might feel like an eternity). I'm in the same boat - patiently waiting for Christmas. ;)
Glad I'm not alone. I want to go mock up the rack so bad, but there's no way I could duplicate that tape and plastic shipping job from CycleRacks. Stuck like chuck until Christmas. I never imagined how much happiness this bike would bring, it's like being a kid all over again.

Well, I've been working through the holidays, which is nice, because the extra $$ is always welcomed. But I got the racks installed finally! As soon as I got off work today, I got started...

First the Action Packer had to come off. If anyone wants the plywood mounting setup, just PM me, I'll ship it to you no cost. It's solid, hardware included. Anyone looking to mount an Action Packer and carry light, around town loads, this is great as it mounts to your sub-frame with only the modification of the rear plastic fender (cutting off the two knobs that acted as backstops to the stock luggage pad) in order to get the flat surface needed for the mounting plate. I've taken a couple -500 mile trips with it, plus my daily 42 mile commute. Not a single problem. Of course, it comes with no guarantee. But I do feel as though someone could still get many more miles out it and therefor thought I'd offer it up.
Original build thread.

Moving on. After getting off the AP and rear fender, started wrestling the Cyclerack. A w h i l e later, got it all torqued down and stood there staring at my TW almost like a proud father... lol.

In all seriousness, I want to send out a HUGE Thank You to everyone who voted/read/enjoyed my essay, and to Tim for his generosity. This has been the best Christmas in recent years. And I can't wait to put some hard miles on my Tinman Side Racks and Cyclerack. FYI Tim, I'm planning on strapping a couple of these on for my side bags. Double ended, 76 liters total storage, GL quality. Those will be coming sooner than later. And of course I'll update the thread as it evolves.

Her new should name be Yamawife. Don't worry about staring at your second love in awe. We'd all be lying if we denied doing it ourselves.
