It is a little confusing, at first, especially if the "center rod" has sunk inside the adjustment nut. That's what happens as the tensioner wears. Just screw on the top of the tensioner bolt until the rod re-appears. It's in there somewhere. Adjust so that it sits just 0.020" below the surface of the adjustment nut.hi, i just did my top end and i'm questioning if i have the cam chain tensioner adjusted correctly for my 1998 tw.
can you please clarify what this means?
"4. Adjust the tension by turning the tensioner (center rod in tensioner should be withing .5mm of being flush with the end of the tensioner)"
