Well I had my bike on some roads that are 2 lane nothing around. So you can just start cruising up there without noticing. I had my bike wide open and hit 75-80MPH. I would have it in 5th gear at 3/4 from wide open and that was it, the ducks guts. Just with that last 1/4 was more power without changing the sprockets around. I guess if I did there would be a couple of extra miles to squeeze out. Man that bike was humming.

The fastest I've seen with stock gearing is 70 indicated and that was on a slight downhill grade. I still need to do the carb mods though.

I went from a 50 rear sprocket to a 47 tooth,1st gear is more usable but top end is even slower if that is possible. Maybe 65-67 won't pull 5th gear at all, that's with carb mods.

You lost torque at the rear wheel.
