I just posted an ad to the Tucson craigslist MC classifieds to feel out interest for starting a Tucson based urban enduro event.

That Portland Alley Sweeper just looks like too much fun, and there has to be at least one alley for every street here in Tucson, so this city is perfect for a similar ride.



Anybody on here who might be interested please PM me, I can't think of anything better than a pack of TWs leading all of the big block enduros through the course!

The Portland Alley Sweeper is way too much fun! Great idea on starting your own! We do a little alley sweeping here in Salem in small groups.

I have posted several CL ads, but as of yet I have received ZERO responses. I have been warned that it can be very difficult to get any kind of group activity organized in Tucson.



I think that if I'm going to have any luck on this I'm going to have to change my approach somewhat, maybe try and reach out to some existing riding groups. At the very least I'll have to head over to ADV to try and drum up some interest.

I've had poor response with C/L when making bike-related postings which do not directly involve buying or selling a bike (Such as soliciting volunteer bikes for the purpose of fitting new products). Even with the prospect of getting free stuff I think the ads go unnoticed.

Funny to see this brought up again, in the past 2 weeks I've started posting on the Tucson Area Bulletin Board thread over on ADVrider and I've found some new folks to ride with already, at least one of which is interested in doing some alley sweeping. Tucson Area Bulletin Board: - Page 941 - ADVrider Me and Friedom are working on a group ride this Thursday (8-15-13) to do Tanque Verde - Redington Rd - San Manuel - Oracle - Backside Mt. Lemmon - Catalina Hwy (down) - Tanque Verde. 120 easy dualsport miles. I'd love to have another T-dubber along if you can make it!

The only problem with organizing something like a proper Alley Sweeper group ride with lots of bikes is that my current days off are weekdays and there are not many folks with W-Th riding availability. I'm working on getting my off days switched to normal weekends, but until then I've put my Tucson Alley Sweeper project on hold.
