my wife's pretty chuffed with me at the minute - because I solved her engine cutting out problem and she's been using the bike to commute - so happy to save an extra 90 mins a day.. even more if she goes gym..

. problem was tracked to the side stand switch

now thats solved we decided to go ahead with new tires,

so put on the tw31 combination,

at the pressure they are at the suspension and ride sems better ( less bouncy )

the steering seems a lot sharper

it seems to have a different tendancy in corners..

must be better tire profiles.

the tw31's do seem quite knobble-ly

are they ok in rain on tarmac?

so far so good.

The TW31 is okay when new. Just okay. As it wears it will vibrate and howl. The TW203 or one of its clones would be a much better street tire--smoother, quieter, lasts longer, and gobs more traction than any knobby on wet or dry pavement.

There are a host of street rear tires that would do better on pavement than a TW31. Pick most any universal type tread.

yeah I guess next set we will get shipped over - the shinko's look like what we need..

actually I just assumed the guys who installed the tires would put the correct pressure..

starting to wonder if he had any idea at all.. ¿?

they fitted the tires and they were inflated too 39 rear and 32 front.. ( if the gas station pump can be trusted )

the pressures according to manual are 18 - 22 front back 18 - 26 rear ?!

after letting some air out - ( i went 26 rear ( have a top box on ) and 20 on the front..

way smoother - doesnt want to fall into corners now,.

I found some winding mountain roads here - mossed over in places - some even have sloping shotcreted walls so had some fun scratching those tire in!
