You're welcome.Thanks I appreciate your help
I have no experience with these TTR knockoff carbs so I don't know how well, or if they will even work for you. Most knockoff carb do require at least some degree of futzing around with in order to get the throttle cables to mate up and work properly. Thanks I appreciate your help will the knock offs on ebay work well even though the years are 99-04
You can't always believe everything on the internet. It shows me the ebay ones are not compatible to 2005 TTR230
No (see above responses).do you know first hand that they will work
Agreed.As stated by TW-Brian the TTR225 & TTR230 share the same 223cc motor.
I noticed no discernible difference between the heads when I swapped a 223cc TTR engine for the TW200's engine.
I also am using the stock '03 TW carb and manifolds without modification on that 223cc TTR225 engine.
As such is seems logical that if an intake mod can be made to work on a TW 200 engine it can be made to work on a TTR 225 or TTR230 engine.
Mating TTR airbox to TW or Chinese carb might require creativity.
I do not have a loose TW carb available to measure, but I can assure you that it is not larger than a TTR carb as you indicate it is.Thanks the TW carb is a 28mm correct??/ The 2005 TTR230 is a 26mm
As I stated above, it is unlikely that the TW carb would be larger than the TTR carb.I would have to shave a little off the carb joint to get the 28mm in to a 26mm correct
The TW intake manifold will bolt directly to a TTR cylinder head, however a TTR carb will not mate up properly with a TW intake manifold - it will be too big.or just get a 28mm carb joint from a TW which should bolt up to the cylinder of a TTR230
