Have you installed it already? I have been wanting to get one and the price is $20 lower than others have said. Was the price $189 shipped?

installed last week works great,outside of box said tw225.

Yea, the letters and numbers are causing confusion. In Japan, it seems that TW's engines are offered with more CC's. (225) So yes, this is a real TW kit which apparently is not offered in the USA (Bay Area Yamaha seems to have personal connections in Japan).
Yes, there is a kit starter kit offered in the USA, but it is for a Yamaha "XT" 225. As Tom proved, the internal parts are the same, but since the relationship between the engine and frame is a bit different the XT 225 kick arm will hit the frame when used on the TW 200/225. We had one member heat the "XT 225" arm and bent it to work, but said it was alot of work. Boy this kick starter issue from day one has created a lot of confusion for folks. Gerry

So.........to be overly redundant, if I order this kit from Bay Area at the number posted I will get a kit designed for the TW200 and the kick lever in that kit is correct (does not need to be modified). Correct??

PERSONALLY, GIVEN ALL THE ANXIETY THAT THE KICK STARTER RETROFIT HAS CAUSED FOLKS, I WOULD SAY "THIS TW225 KIT OFFERED ONLY BY BAY AREA YAMAHA" IS (AT LEAST NOW) A DEAL THAT SHOULD NOT BE PASSED UP.
I suspect other dealers have friends in Japan and could end up doing the same thing if so inclined. I don't think that is likely to happen. As interest for this kit grows as a result of it's posting here, there is certainly a chance the price could go up. Right now, the kit offers peace of mind at a great price.
