Hi,

So it seems everyone likes the Shinko 241 on the front.
Unfortunately I don't think we can get them over here in the UK. :(
So I was wondering what other options there are in the UK for something a little more off road bias than my current Bridgestone TW203.
Nothing extreme that will be lousy on-road, just a bit more bite for gravel or some green lanes.

This Heidenau K60 looks OK : http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?gclid=CjwKEAiA1ITCBRDO-oLA-q_n8xYSJADjBQfGBSD25bVQEkvRl4h56ByvXP68lWVq1Z1anWWP3uk4kBoCxf3w_wcB&dsco=110&typ=D-M65239&partner=1&m_s=1&ID=froogle&s_kwcid=AL!432!3!164064149698!!!g!!&ef_id=VV7wFAAAAf1X1aCy:20161202223659:s
And I think Maxxis M6006 has been mentioned before.

Best Regards,
Dave.

My 200 is wearing one of the K60’s on the front, it’s proving to be a good bit of kit both for road and trail. Slight instability at an indicated 68mph when paired with the stock knobbly rear, but that’s about it. Make sure it’s the K60 and not the K60 Scout – lead in time for delivery should be around 3 weeks ….

I have had good results with the Mitchelin T63 on the front of my XT600, but in 130 size it is listed as "Rear Tire"
Do you think this matters? i have heard of people running rear tires backwards on the front!

Tread pattern on the rear Michelin is quite different - if you do try it, let us know how that works out

Rear tire on the front is fine on the TW, more to do with tread patterns .....

Yes, now i look closer the T63 doesn't look too good in the larger size for a front.
I bet the K60 will last a long time also.
cheers.

I have the Heidenau K60 120/90-18. So far almost 15,000 miles on it. I seriously expect to get 25K or 30K miles out of it. Mefo should do as well.
I had to remount the tires on the rim backwards to even out the knob wear. Also now at 30 psi.

That’s the only one listing on fleabay that’s ships to the USA – all the others have North America as “excluded” – (probably something to do with Trump) …….
