Not been feeling to well the past couple of weeks, but the riding bug overpowered the cold bug today. Did some riding in the back 40 as I call it with you know who. Actually it's some BLM land adjacent to our place. Miles and miles of two track, but as you may have seen from previous posts, not too many tree's. Anyway, road about 40 miles, in about 40 degrees. Huh, I should have called this the 40-40-40 ride.

Home now and gonna take a nap. Oofta!

40 degrees is a swag more or less. It was 36 when I left and 46 when I got back, so I just said 40, close enough.

Good thing I decided to go out yesterday. Rain today. I knew it was coming and thought it would get here yesterday, but it all turned out.

When I was riding the 2 track, I was quite warm. For a couple section I rode a tar backroad about 35-40 mph and got colder. Back on

the 2 track and I warmed right up again. Wish I was riding in your cache place, looks alot warmer with better terrain, but I shouldn't complain

all that much. Could be parked for the winter really getting the itch!

I know this isnt TW related but when I saw ur dog setup I had to laugh cuz I made a dog set up a few years ago for my quad for lower cache creek cruising with the hounds.....The creek is only a few miles away from my house. I do have to bring quad in back of pickup cuz don't want the cops chasing me down.

That's cute! Never thought of a setup like that. I might try something like that too. Good idea.

When we take the ATV's, Georgie don't care what she gets to ride as long as she gets to go TW or ATV.

Here was my route the other day. I was searching for some additional entry points to access the BLM land. Lots of private property surrounds the BLM and they can be hard to locate. Anyway, just having some fun with mapsource, and MS paint to give a visual.

Heh heh...

First impression: hit a set of bumps just right and those dogs will know how flapjacks feel when you flip the frying pan.

They look like they get excited when you roll that rig out.

They have both fallen off. I don't take the quad out of low gear and keep the speed pretty slow. As u can imagine the steering gets very light and doesn't always want to turn right away till I move up on the seat (150 lbs of dogs, approx 50lb for hitch haul/wood setup). Got a standard 2" reciever bracket from moose racing that bolted right to back of quad frame. The atv hitch haul came from cabelas and made the wood insert complete with free carpet remnant. If I'm going to climb a steep hill I have dogs jump off and meet me at top of hill or they will fall off. I've been amazed at the deep water, sand, mud we've crawled right thru....this quad is heavy and slow but like a damn tractor! I can have water to bottom of seat and still crawl along. I made a radiator hose/aluminum tube setup for exhaust so it doesn't get under water. Fun at the creek!!!
