3/8 grade 5 bolts are usually around 45 ft. lbs.
Mel
Was thinking around there...Just concerned about the aluminum flange...wanna stay close because of thin gasket and about 40 psi water...Water is a precious commodity here in Southern Idaho...Leaks/wasted water are my nemisis...

Does the flange joint use gaskets?
Use good water-compatible gasket sealer either way. Probably a specialty sealer for this?
Good on ya for saving that precious H2O!

Yes...thin rubber/poly mesh? ....used #2 permatex non hardening...plus it was getting the 9 hp Briggs wet to the part of not starting and grey pudding oil...
