I shark fish and want to buy a tw200 for the beach. Will only use on hard pack sand. Can the Tw200 hold two people, say +- 500lbs if just going 10-15 mph on the hard pack sand? If not, is there an aftermarket Shock that can be installed to boost the carry weight?

Welcome!

Don't try to carry a shark! (Jump it sure..) carry it... NO!

You should be ok.. You're basically talking two up going slow.

500lb is about on the limit – I figure a rider and pillion at 250 each is about as far as you can go

Frankly – you’d be better off with an ATV at that loading – the TW is going to handle like a pig …..

"Hard packed sand" is somewhat subjective and is relative to grain size distribution, moisture content, previous wave action as well as what you have experience with. So the answer can range from "No problem" to "No way". I would tend to predict "No way" could one ride 2 up, 500 pounds plus any fishing gear along the water line on the North American beaches I have seen. Even at 10 psi that approximately 800 pound all up weight is going to put more than 50% on the rear tire so the tire is really going to sink in before it can generate approximately 40 square inches of contact patch with the beach sand and stop digging in. Same for the front, it will likely sink and plow deeply before reaching any hard packed sand after leaving terra firma and attempting to cross any inner tidal zone of disturbed looser sand.
Perhaps an ATV @ 4 psi might be a better shark fishing rig.

Well thanks for replies. I dont want to get one if it wont work. I can not use an ATV cuz the Federal Beaches say you can only use a street legal vehicle, like car or motorcycle.

If you do get a TW, and I hope you do, check ProCycle for heavy fork & shock springs...they got 'em.
I expect you'll like the little bike so much you'll find all kinds of places to ride him, not just sand dunes with a big-ass strap-on fish!
And welcome to the forum...

Is the issue here in Washington with the beaches also. Even a street legal quad or sxs are not allowed on the beach. Considered a State highway.

Not a TW, but consider a pair of 50 cc scooters.
Have a Genuine Roughhouse, it is ok on hardpack sand,
Plus it is street legal, don't need a MC endorsement and
Is just plain fun to ride.
Almost "funner" than TW.
