I've been stacking parts for the last few weeks in preparation for spring.

The garage has become such a crowded mess that I gave up and just started over.

Hopefully I'll be done, moved in, and ready to start TW work in March.

That's the type of thinking that got me into this situation.

It's still happening. Even on a weekend.

Putter on scooters day. White bike got a new chain and knuckle busters.

Blue bike got chain and both sprockets. Rear sprocket was wasted.

New and old chain for comparison...

Both are geared 14/55 now.

I also put a high-mount front fender and hand guards on the blue one.

Planning to do a clutch replacement and install the Clarke XT tank tomorrow. Depending on how it turns out I may order one for the white bike as well.

Tank on, clutch replaced. Forget to pick up some new fuel line so I didn't fire it up and test it out. Hopefully tomorrow.

Fork seals. Fresh fork oil at the appropriate level makes a huge difference.

I had the better of my 2 old chains soaking in gas for the last week. Scrubbed it clean and blew it dry. Then double Zip-Loc'd it soaking in gear oil. This can ride along on the OBDR and hopefully we won't need it. Old master links go on the key rings.

Aside from my backordered fender for the white bike, I think they're ready.

Extended the SAE connectors from behind the side panel to up at the cluster so I can use them for aux power sources. Did this on both bikes.

The blue bike is my loaner and it was clearly not pampered before I bought it. I decided I'd adjust the throttle cables while I had the tank off because there was about a 1/4 twist slop. Found all the adjusters backed off and the jam nuts waaay lose. All better now.

Then I fueled up and trailered up in preparation for a meet-up with some strangers from the internet. Pray for my safety.

It was on the bike when I bought it but only about 18" long. I think that's pretty typical of what you get with most battery tenders. I just added enough to run up the backbone and behind the gauges. Easier to plug in the tender during winter time plus I can do some charging while I ride if I want to.

Weights and measures aren't so bad. It's that metric time that's hard to adjust to.

Installed cheap Amazon LED rear blinker stalks.... no blinky blinky.... ordered new relay... hopefully that fixes it or the blinker stalks go back!
Is the new relay LED specific?

Made an attempt to remedy my saddlebag situation. Made some reinforcement plates for the inside and used screws with nylocks and large washer to spread the load better. The original rivets were super soft when I trimmed them off. I moved the mounts down about an inch, giving me that much additional ground clearance.

I added some additional hook points and a deeper support loop to the mount too.

Now they have stronger support on the mounts, better bracing an the lower third, and I can strap them tight against the bike so they can't bounce around so much.

I think I might patent the new support system and market it as "The Borat".

Built a saddlebag mount and got them mocked up. I may sew in a couple more D-rings so I can strap them down tighter.

Got the Procycle springs installed along with a new rear tire. Once I get a chance to trail test it, I'll update the spring thread I started.
