Today I replaced my plug. The old one was still in spec and didn't look that bad. The valves were still in spec. The cam tensioner was way off so I adjusted that. Tomorrow I will check the timing and adjust the clutch. I did take it for a short couple of trips up and down the street. It seemed to be running good with the new plug. Here is a couple of pics of the old plug. This plug is years old and looks like it was burning good

Got rid of the Deathwing today and mounted a D605 in the 120 size. Put some adult sized footpegs on it. Removed the signals and mirrors while looking for appropriate sized replacements that don't snag all the forest brush and vines...open to any recommendations you other Tdubbers have. Thanks.

Cycle gear (and others) offer Speedmetal short stalk turn signals in both 2 and 3 wire. Speedmetal Short Stalk Turn Signals - Cycle Gear

A pair of stock signals weigh 1 pound. The Speedmetal ones weigh in at 5 ounces.

After the swap they wouldn't blink right with the OEM flasher, fixed it with this. - 2-Pin 12V Electronic LED Flasher Relay Fix Motorcycle Turn Signal Lights Blinker | eBay

@admiral, how is this project going? 'Tis the season and all.
As you'd say, "not dead yet"! :) Snowmobile is still on the lift but I haven't worked on it since last winter. Carb is a disaster and still have to get all the tree sap-like substance dislodged from the fuel tank. Having a fuel tank as part of the seat is a pain in the rear haha. Pretty bulky to work on with no access other than the fuel filler hole.
Today I'm on frosty hollow snow removal duty...probably for a few days by the looks of the weather forecast. Got the new plow mounted on the golf cart last night. The snowblower has been de-mothed as well. All projects are on hold for snow removal and wood hauling.

I am in the process of new chain & sprockets. The previous owner must have had the chain derail and it scratched up the rear sprocket and I can't have that. So a new rear 50T is on, and the front will be a +1 tooth. Probably finish up tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing how it does with the +1T front. After that is OEM blinkers going back on so I can take it out on the road a little.

I finished up the sprocket and chain refresh with the new 15T front = EXCELLENT! Will say, that is more work to change a front sprocket than any other motorcycle I have had in 50 years. Sprocket is easy, but side cover BS, is not so easy and kind of killed my mojo on sanding down the side cover and giving it a fresh coat of paint. Way too much BS.
But, in the end, it was a fun job working in the shop with the little TW. I really like the gearing now. Fresh oil & filter, fresh sprockets, and chain, we are good for a long time in those departments.

So how many people have screwed up the starter gear putting things back on - I bet there are some.

Next - New tires! Yea,,,,,, changing tires is always entertaining and always good for a few swear words...

The YFM head that I'm swapping onto my other engine was missing the dowel pin for the cam gear. Nipped off a drill bit as a replacement.

Glad to see SnowFox is still with us, was afraid we might have lost her to the "Green Side", now that she's a Kawi owner!
Yes, Bae, I'm still here. Thanks for thinking of me.😘
It's been in the single digits with 50mph winds so the KLX and Dubby are lonely, but cozy and covered up in the horse trailer. I have an offer from a moto mechanic to buy the TW but at this time I have no desire to part with it.
And what would I do without my awesome forum friends?

Road it a mile down a logging trail looking for deer tracks. Then road it on the asphalt to the otherside of the woods i was in as my friend owns the land. He has a tree service and his wood lay down yard is on the backside of 500 acres of woods. The wood yard is a muddy slop from the bobcats carrying logs , burning wood and wood chips from the chipper. A real TW playground. I found fresh tracks so i must have pushed one off the backside. A good cleaning when i got home as an oil change is in order. My break in period is done. I'm just over 1,000 miles now.

Made some rabbits and deer a little nervous today cruising around in light snowfall.

Never learned all those Inuit names for fifty-something different types of snow but today I found "snow that tricks inattentive rider". Granted it was a bit steep and there are good size rocks hiding in there.

1927 Fordson, interesting lines when highlighted by snow. I took front rims off looking for period correct replacements but the solid rear steel tires still have lots of miles left on them.:)
