There was another thread recently about replacement heads. I had ordered 2 just after the first of the year and the 2nd got delivered today. One was sold as a YTM225 (TriMoto) and the other a YFB250 (Timberwolf 250). Both look to be either low hour or well maintained and neither had a cam. One didn't even have a shadow of wear on the rockers and came with all 3 covers. I know a guy with South American connections that's bringing me an XT cam.

2nd

Probably won't take much to clean them up and have a couple decent spares for the shelf.

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe,

Hi or low which way to go?
Mount both, and cut the back off the high one, then it would look like a BMW GS. Ha!

Finished up the tubeless mod. Everything was going good until my wife saw that I had the wheel in one of the bath tubs.

Well, at least your weren't mounting the tire in the tub with astroglide. You may want to search some older threads to get that one.

I massaged & gently manipulated* my spare back wheel rim into the correct shape again. Took it down to the local tire guy & had him check it for runoff & to make sure it was straight enough to seat a tubeless tire. Happy day, it is! This afternoon I'll be stripping all the rattlecan paint off it, giving it a good scrub & polish & installing new bearings. Hopefully ready to paint by the weekend.

*beat the piss out of with a 4lb cross-pein.

And mashed in 3 new bearings & gave it 3 coats of paint & lacquer.
I never did do well at patience.....

Aaaaand sealed the spokes. I'm forced into idleness now though. I need to let the 5200 cure for 7 days. That's an entire fiscal week! 😟

FINALLY got my oil & filter changed out & as a bonus, my decal kit showed up from Sri Lanka. Definitely worth the wait for those.
So i decided to take a quick bimble off through the woods. Only 10 or so miles total since it's 28° & I'm not that tough.
Essentially though, other than the spare rear wheel, my little Dub is all finished & ready for better weather!

I really need to stay off this forum......

I got rid of the rear fender this morning. It's a much cleaner, more 'modern' look. $24 & a half hour well spent.

It's cold here in Pennsylvania, so today I added a little Startron Fuel Treatment to the fuel tank since it will be sitting for the next few months. I've never been a believer in fuel treatments, but after seeing some pictures and videos of nasty carbs that have had ethanol fuel sitting in them, I now use it frequently.

Bought myself and the TW my first trailer yesterday. Needs a bit of work, but happy with the price, and build quality is beyond that of the "carry-on" trailers you see beat to heck populating facebook marketplace.
Main things that need replaced due to rust are the axle U-bolts and nuts, as well as the axle spring seats (will pull the axle and repaint while at it.)

Looking forward to taking some trips this year with the TW in tow.

(also picked up the proper ball mount after this pic was taken, so it can tow level)

I started them in the garage.....it will be Sunny and in the mid 40's the rest of the week. There are about 2 feet of snow here and usually there is snow till Easter. I only ride when it is between 65 and 85 degrees and the riding surfaces are dry......It is possible that I will go to Death Valley or someplace in the Desert Southwest to see the wildflowers and ride but not that likely. More likely I will enjoy the spring skiing...

I am a Gonzaga alum, so it is always fun to go to Vegas to see the WCC Tournament and stay to see March Madness at a sports bar where they show all the games, and the place is full of excited basketball fans.....one of the most popular times in Vegas.

My body and mind are in rhythm with the four seasons and always looking forward to the change....Hope springs eternal.
