Trying to bring a 1987 TW back to life. Not a mechanic but have learned a lot from the forum and YouTube!

Bike has a hard time starting, will run a little bit once started and then hard time cranking again. Uncle is coming over Sunday to help so hopefully will help w carb, etc.

Trying to work on electrical while I wait. This wire is hanging here and have no idea where it goes or what it is for. Have service manual but wiring diagram is Greek to me. Any help to what it is and where it plugs into would be great. Wires are blue w white stripe on one and yellow on other.

Bought used speedo and indicator cluster and struggling w indicator lights but will save that for another day....

Thanks in advance.

Since it looks like that has not been used in awhile make sure you clean all the contacts before you re-connect. A dab of dielectric grease (on all you connections) ain't a bad idea either.
Maybe the previous owner bypassed for a reason? Bad or dirty switch at the kickstand possibly.
