Not sure what motorcycle to take to the Ozarks and Sturgis. I plan on doing a lot of riding in the Ozark mountains and riding all around the Sturgis area. I can take a TW or a Kawasaki KLX 250 SF. Both bikes in like new condition. They will be carried in a toy hauler on this trip. Not sure the TW is going to like going up all the mountains and will it have enough power?? So which one should I carry?

I think you would be alright especially with the stock gearing. The 98 did pretty good in Colorado up to about 8500-1000 feet before it started sputtering a bit. Uphill i could run about 45mph at 7500-9000 feet and run highway speed on somewhat level ground. And that was with 14/47 gearing and the old carb. I actually like the old carb better than the cv carb. I have a 98 and 07 and the 98 makes alot more power at lower rpm. The cv might do better at high altitude but the old one should be fine with stock jetting. Decisions desicions!
