This TW200 has been parked on the lot next to where I work for about a week now. I'm wondering what year it is. (I thought my '93 had an ugly color scheme, but this tops it.
) I know nothing about the bike or if the owner is even looking to sell it, but figured I'd see if you experts here might be able to at least make an educated guess about what year it might be. Might make a good parts bike if the guy is willing to sell it at a good price.

I pick 1989. You should look at the sticker on the steering head behind the headlight.

That bike looks like it's in poor, poor shape. You should find the owner and offer the owner $200 to take it off his/her hands. LOL

Remember, we all should seek a "parts bike". Unless of course the parts bike is better than the one we are riding! he he.

Looks like the skid plate is not stock either.

Edit: Fair enough heyduke. I was being sarcastic. Not making fun of anyone's color scheme or year. I have no room to talk after just completing repainting mine "Almond", close to sand color! Just making light that it had been sitting there a week and maybe you could get a good deal if the person wanted to sell it. Actually looks in good shape and I would never insult anyone by offering such a low dollar amount unless it truely was in bad shape.

If you look through the posts of others bikes on a earlier thread you will see a 94 with that color scheme.

I wish you guys would let the rest of us know when your being sarcastice that bike looks better tham mine and it felt like like an insult when you said it would make a good parts bike

Heck...if it IS a '94 that would be a year newer than what I have! Maybe my current bike would wind up being the "parts bike."

As for the color scheme... I'm just not into the multi-color thing. I much prefer the way Yamaha has gone with newer graphics and color on the mid-current 20XX bikes. As they say though - YMMV..

Newbie here...yup 94 (I believe some 95's had that scheme also but if IIRC the fork boots are blue). http://www.bikepics.com/yamaha/tw200/ Mine is a 94, also in that color scheme, and the only thing I don't care for are the yellow fork boots. I kinda like the racks in the picture, but would have gone with the Acerbis Rally Pro Handguards myself as the blue is pretty close to matching...I think those are Maier(?). That's on my to-do list of add-ons for mine!

I'm still debating whether or not to add racks since my Icon tank bag works great for me right now, since mostly I use the bike for commuting/light trail riding.

If you scroll down to post number 10...you can see how cool this year can look all "supermoto'd!" (also with Acerbis guards and Napoleon mirrors..like mine).

Those were the ultra-rare Smurf Special Editions.

They came with matching fuzzy slippers and trapdoor pajamas.
