Hi Everyone!

I just picked up a pair of "T-Dubs" so I could teach my older kids how to ride. I started when I was 10 but haven't riden in a ***** age
Guess what?!? It looks like everything is "off limits" to a 2 wheeler! Does anybody know where plain 'ol dirt roads or trails are down here? I looked at RiderPlanet, but it's pretty shy for anything local. I'm in Coral Springs and have a trailer to haul them around on.

Thanks and GREAT forum!

You can look on the Florida Trail Riders site but I think you will need to head north to Ocala or Croom to find anything. We do have some sand trails here in Lake Placid but nothing legal. Also they are full of deep whoops from all the big trucks. Good Luck!!

Not much in Broward to ride except private property. Do a search for L Cross in Okeechobee. You didn't say if your kids had drivers/mc license or not. I love riding the dirt roads out in the Everglades but you need to be street legal and licensed to do so. I camp at Trail Lakes Campground on US 41 / Tamiami Trail and ride from there. Turner River Road, Wagon Wheel Road, Jane's Scenic Drive, Sabal Palm this area is called The Squares, all the way to East Naples. Also you can park your trailer at Monroe Station on US 41 and ride Loop Road which is mostly all dirt about 24 miles till it comes out on 41 and then turn around and go back to Monroe Station. Stay out of the Glades during general gun (hunting) season and you'll be all right. Dixie Dual Sport puts on some nice rides in FL but none here in South FL. Darrell.

You can also park your vehicle and trailer at Trail Lakes Campground. Last year they charged me $5 for my van for the day. Its safe behind closed gates (need combo). Most places aren't safe to park as the thieves from Miami break into vehicles regularly. Also for a small fee check out the pythons they have in there zoo. Monroe Station should be safe as its a hunter check in station and the game wardens seem to be there a lot. So you got your kids TW's but what do you have to ride?

Hey Cap'n,

Thanks for the info. I'd hate to have the bad guys break into my Yukon. I might have to get a little perturbed about that

I'll commandeer 1 of the T-dubs while they fight over the other one - though it'll primarily be just one munchkin at a time. After I've got a few places staked out to ride, I may look for a used T-dub (or 2) so we can all ride together.
