Nothing is set in Stone....However

If things go according to Hoyle, Borneo, E~Flow{that would be Effenflood} ;), Nick{Montezuma}, and Hoot, will be riding down in south Texas towards and into New Mexico, perhaps Arizona, in early to Mid March...the details are not set in stone...but if and when it happens, I just purchased a new Sony Cyber~Shot DSC H_300 Camera and plan on taking along the video camera...SO if it happens and we survive the ordeal, Hoot will have plenty of photos and video to share...

I was telling them this weekend, with temps slated to be in the upper 80s and low 90s in South Texas this week...we should have already taken off

Hoot; Do yous guys really put that kind of mileage on a TW. Sounds like wide open riding all day long. Can these bikes take that in the heat?
I really never thought I {or Montezuma} would ride as many miles as we did in 2015.....but after Moab, we put plenty of miles on, in Hot, and Warm Temperatures....anywhere from 200 to as much as 350 in one day was not uncommon....we had Zero Mechanical or Heat Related Problems....mostly just chain adjustments{on the then stock chains} ... Frankly I would rather ride 150-200 tops in a day, but thus far, both my 2014 and Montezuma's 2015 are at 5000 miles with no problems to speak of.

This is good to hear about long journeys with the TW. With a watchful eye on maintenance and fresh oil at regular intervals most machines will go for a long time.

I would imagine you are taking the backroads most of the way.

Yep that is the plan...but we, along with Borneo, did quite a few days where we spent much of them on State Highways and even some Federal Roads....on occasion we got stuck on 4 lane, but those we did not stay on long. Gravel, Black Top, and Dirt , are the roads of choice :p
