Rode Nibbler a bit 'till the sun dropped over the horizon.

Significant rain yesterday melted a lot of snow and did a little a bit of erosion.

Still plenty to churn through.

Was fun to get out and play amongst some boulders.

4 inches of rain overnight turning to wet snow now means no New Years Eve ride.:(
At least no damaging flooding from the melted snowpack, just some intermittent drainages jumping the bank and carving new routes.

How about an older night ride video as a consolation prize?

Hope some of you can get out and ride to bring in the New Year. (y)

We are getting the brunt of the rain. My rain gauge:
1. Daily starts at midnight
2. Event is since it started raining
3. Week starts and stops midnight Sunday
4. Year starts October 1st

CalTrans shut down Hwy 50 this morning due to flooding. The American River is 4' over the road in some spots. Snow level above 7,000' after a significant snowpack that is melting off. I imagine that all that snow with all this rain will cause mud slides on the fire burn scar areas.

CalTrans shut down Hwy 49 2 miles from my place due to flooding and 4 miles from my place the other direction due to mud slides. I guess I'm trapped!

It's much warmer in your neck of the tree's than I would have thought. I bet night riding on the singletrack lined with boulders was fun.

I took the TW to the local groups Trials practice today. Rode some of the easy stuff with my bike. Played on a real trials bike a little too. Place has running water everywhere. Normally very dry. Crossed quite a few holes that were full of muddy water
One was almost over my boots! View attachment 233081
Cool photo of the trials bikes riders!

May you all begin a happy new year with a fun TW ride today 😎
I’ll be riding the tractor today instead.
No power, no water for some time but have lots of diesel and more of SanDue’s oak firewood to stay warm.
Ahhh, the joys of country living.
Maybe the wife will want to go sledding down the drive😊

Had I known the old fashioned chuck wagon dinner triangle "bells" would become so collectable I would have cranked out a lifetime's supply of Christmas Gifts back in metal shop.
Otherwise known as the "Come and get it Fred" ringer.
Five plus hours on the tractor and road are fairly clear, helped 3 neighbors, pulled another neighbor's tractor out of a ditch, and plowed access for the power company's bucket truck. For the price of a tank of diesel think I earned some good will. Hopefully my overworked guardian angel will save me from another spill on the bike.:)

I spent the day clearing a small slope of blackberry vines and then decided to jump on the Tdub and ride up to the shooting range in the national forest. There were a bunch of trees freshly cleared that had fallen across the road in the last storms' wind. I rode right over a bunch of baby limbs that hid a 1-1/4" shin cracker. That got a owww outta me.
When I got up to the range entrance it was a 12" deep mud puddle and I decided it was too late in the day to chance falling in the water. So rode a bit further on the gravel roads instead. After banging into a couple of puddles I didn't see I decided it was too dark already to ride. The deathwing almost got me again. Boy that thing is squirrelly in gravel. Good thing I was puttin' along.
It was a semi cool 47 degrees and I was pretty comfortable. My knees are still cold as I warm up my recliner for the evening.
Happy New Year to all my Tdub buds.

I went for my first ride out on the Tdub this afternoon!
My title came through (bought it from a guy in Alabama who moved there from Arizona, last title was in Maine, I'm in Tennessee....) so I thought I'd celebrate with a quick blat around to decobweb myself & get used to riding again. It's been 14 years, nearly, since I was last on a bike & probably more than 30 since i rode something this slow & small! 😆
I reverted back to being a 16 year old on my first moped, crouched & tucked behind the bars, eyes fixed on the speedo willing it to hit 62 (35 in moped speeding fame...) Haven't had so much fun in a long time! I'd forgotten how cold it gets across the throat when it's chilly though(41° & sunny here today)
I just ran a quick 30 mile, back road circuit, making sure everything I'd done to her was working correctly & nothing important was going to fall off (parts or me!)
Very comfortable cruising at 55 & I reckon it'd do that all day long. 60 is wringing it's neck. 61 was a bit downhill (although my grin was surely catching as much wind as my not-suitable-for-riding-a-bike jacket!)
I'm Incredibly happy with it & i can see putting on a ton more miles than I ever intended, when i bought it as a road legal alternative to an ATV, for hunting!
