I just checked the internet, and at least one vendor now has them in stock again: http://cgi.ebay.com/...0-/280570484090 (I ran a Google check for black steel foot pegs Yamaha tw200 ) This is a different vendor than dormousesleep that I used in July, and the price is slightly higher, but at least they are starting to be available again.

This is the dormousesleep ebay ad that I bought from in July and had in my original post---- you can see that the pics and lay-out appear nearly the same as the above listed ebay vendor's ad : http://cgi.ebay.com/...741559

edit : sorry drob, I just realized that you had posted this vendor a few days ago as part of a different thread !

No problem at all - better to have its own thread anyway since it seems to be a 'top 5' mod. I just wanted to give Truelight the heads up since he was looking for these.

Oh fine...now I hear about this
I already have a max bid higher than that with the other online vendor. Hopefully no one else will drive the bid up before it closes.

Anyway... can you post a URL to the other vendors who have these in stock so other may benefit?

Thanks!

I just ordered a set for my '89. With colder weather coming, I'll be wearing a heavier pair of boots and the wider pegs will be nice to have.

Got my pegs in the mail today from kayakarctic (the Chinese Ebay supplier). It was 8-days from China to Boise, Idaho. Incredible! I've have worse and slower service from US vendors! I could also not believe the tracking capability even to include a photo of the package as it was being shipped out. These folks rock! The pegs look great too. I will have to mount them this weekend and post about how I like them, but for now I'll give two big thumbs way up to kayakarctic. Have no fear ordering from these people... great product, great price, killer service.

I got my pegs in the mail today as well. 9 days to Wichita KS. Got my pegs mounted up. Needed to drill a hole in the left side peg for the spring leg to seat. Everything looked great and can't complain a bit with the service from China.

The only thing I noticed is that the TW pegs have offset heights. With the Chinese pegs, the right side is half an inch lower than the left. I can't imagine that it's going to be that big of a deal, but I don't remember anyone mentioning this before. I suspect I would have reconsidered the impulse buy had I known that before.

I mentioned the height difference when I got mine. It was while we were using the old forum. I noticed right off that the original pegs look like they come from 2 different bikes.

I've had my D2Moto pegs for 2 years now & don't notice the height difference.

I used the original right peg to extend the brake pedal.

I "got 'er pegged" today as well as I installed my new Chinese pegs. Wow...! They give the bike a whole new feel. I now have a real place to rest my feet rather than feeling like a bird on a perch.

I drilled the hole needed in the right peg and that was no big deal. The only thing that gives me any pause is that the new pegs don't seem to swing up as far as the old ones. I hafta wonder though what the idea of spring-loading them is anyway? Perhaps that's for the riders who can lean far enough over in a turn to drag a peg they will flex a little to prevent a crash? They certainly aren't going to move far enough to help much if you catch a rock or tree out on the trail.

Overall, I really like 'em! Good price, great service, nice product. You can't go wrong with this mod.

Well, shame on me. I must have been speed reading and missed that, because I specifically remember your post and that pic. I plan(ned) to shamelessly copy that little adjustment to the brake pedal as well.

I'm certainly happy with the pegs. Took a few miles down the dirt west of town today to try them out. Motored down the "road closed" "bridge out" section of 167th St W and tooled through all the construction whatnot. Never had any awkward footing issues...

My pegs from kayakarctic arrived friday. Installed them this morning in about 15 minutes. Cheap and easy modification with only hand tools needed. Great pics on the installation post made it simple and fast. Amazing how fast these come from China compared to ordering items on line in the good old USA. Can finally stand up going over the "rough stuff" offroad with my size 12 boots. Picked up as set for my KLR650 and pleased as well with that purchase.
