Since the TW will be my primary vehicle for transportation during the winter I thought I should try and prevent it from getting all rusted and corroded. I did some research and played with some different coatings and settled on what I think will do the job well.

The product is CRC heavy duty rust inhibitor (Amazon.com: CRC 06026 Heavy Duty Corrosion Inhibitor, 10 Wt Oz: Automotive).

I have used a similar product on bicycles over the years and after using this I think the bicycle product I have used is the same thing. Likely they just rebrand it.

This is a waxy coating that drys a bit tacky. I sprayed most everything metal. The bike now has a golden hue to it :) In the spring I will clean the bike well and use WD-40 to remove it.

I am pretty sure this will go a long way into protecting it from the elements and chemical road salts. This product seemed to get the best reviews and some testing showed no rust on metal that sat in salt water for over a week. Impressive. IMG_1801.JPG

Looks like some good stuff, you'll be happy you did that in the spring.
