by chance did you down load the manual that PGILLES reference above, look at the wire diagram, study it and compare the 2

Is the battery good? Is it charged? Are the connections all tight?

Did you try jumping the starter relay/solenoid? Just because it's clicking doesn't mean it's actually making the connection inside. Jump it with a heavy gauge wire or a screwdriver, a small wire will get really hot on your fingers if you hold it there too long. If you don't have a heavy gauge wire or screwdriver to make a jumper out of, you can remove the starter wire from the solenoid and touch it to the battery wire at the solenoid to make the starter spin.

If the starter tries to spin, the relay/solenoid is bad or the trigger wiring to it is not providing enough juice. If it doesn't spin you may need a new battery, a good charge, a better ground connection, or a starter.

Let us know the voltmeter readings.

just to clairify, when you say you can hear the relay click- is it the little click when you turn the key or the big click when you push the thumb starter button..

also can you use the kick starter to start it.

well first off i arched the positive on the battery to the frame and it was pretty powerfull i also tried doing the schrewdriver hotwire thing to but nothing.and let me clarify about the relay im not talking about the start relay im talking about the engine cut off relay the person i got it from said that the main switch was bad but seeing as the engine cut off relay clicks and thats hooked up to the main switch tells me that the main switch is in fact working.I geus im just going to have to go through the electric start circuit again because today i notice that my side stand switch is not hooked up and that is included in the circuit. i would use the kick start and just forget the whole electric start thing all together but i cant find a kick start peddle for that year anywhere is that one of those things where you can use any one you want?

Any tw200 or bw200 kicker will work from any year. The bw200 shows same part number as the tw200.

Is arching against the frame how you tested the battery???

Did you jump the engine cutoff relay or the starter relay?

Go over the whole bike and fix according to the manual. Sounds like were fighting too many unknowns right now.

What were your voltmeter readings? That'll tell you what's working.
