Half of where the hub holds the end of the outer part of the brake cable is broken off. When I am riding the bike, this causes me to have a great deal of fear that my front brakes could fail completely during an emergency stop (like the end of the outer cable popping off?). That takes away most of the "fun" factor that is supposed to be such a big part of riding these bikes. I'm not exactly the daredevil type of person who like to say "do I feel lucky?", every time I take the bike out. Anyone have a spare one that I could buy (via paypal)for a decent price? New is just too much money for me to afford.

Thanks for the replies, but I just purchased a brand new one (NOS) off ebay for $20+16.



BTW, it was the hub's backing plate that I actually needed, not the hub itself.
