I was given a 1982 XT200J that the kick start would not work on. I removed the clutch side cover and found that the idler gear had nothing to engage with as someone removed the kick gear off the shaft of the Primary Driven Gear. I have tried to find a used one locally and on EBay. I did find one from Euro Spares in England but it is off a 125 and he will not ship international. I learned that the part number is 3NS-16150-00-00 and that they are available as an OEM from Yamaha. Problem is, they are over $200. John Groom from NW Vintage Cycle Parts in Estacada, OR took the time to tell me that the same primary driven gear fits many Trailway TW200 Yamaha bikes and early XT 125s.

I would be very grateful if anyone out there has one or knows of someone who does. I have no idea why that gear is missing but the bike only has 3850 miles on it and I do believe she has a second life left.

Laurent, you might make it easier for someone here to help you if you do a bit more research at any Yamaha suppliers website. See what years of TW use that part number. Many here have 'parts bike' but would likely have no idea if their gear would fit your bike. If you could let us know that you are seeks a gear from any TW made between 1989 and 1995 then we could simply look on our Vin. tag and let you know we likely have a match. Just a thought. Gerry

Plus 1 to the Giz! Since parts don't come with numbers blazened on their surfaces, an annotated exploded diagram showing the part needed would help someone decide if they had such a beast. If its part of the kick starter addon, I don't have it, but if its on the motor side and engages the kickstarter, I probably do. Make it easy for us if you can. Tom

You're a great guy for doing that Rainman, but does that number get used on the TW, and for what years. My thought is the poster should do this search but if you are so inclined +1 again and my suggestion that you are a stand-out guy. I could as well, but am not inclined as I have lots of other stuff to take care of. Hope this fellow appreciates your effort. Gerry
