I call that mechanism a dog gear. It is only ever employed when the kick lever is operated. Otherwise it remains off line and totally out of the picture exactly the same as the Bendix or Solenoid in the electric starter motor. In order to wear out a kicker you would have to have a real lousy running TW and a very strong leg!

The problem I run into is a huge language barrier with the people selling ZS parts

I have found a kick lever that is a direct TW200 replacement (proper shape and offset and I test fitment on the 2009 I got from ToyAnvil) for about 1/3 of the oem cost

I'm still searching for an english comprehending seller to buy the cluster from

Just a thought here PL. It may be much easier to find the correct language speaker here to talk to them over there where ever there is. If you know what language and dialect they speak where the company is we could even have a member here that speaks it to do the talking.

Hi Brian. If you want to send me all the details, I may be able to help. I go over there most months and can get a local to order one. I will hand cary it home. You could even test fit it on my bike
Hi Andrew,

I don't know how best to do this, but what is needed are the Zongshen equivalents to item numbers 1 - 21 on the attached diagram and parts list, plus the gasket for the right (clutch) side cover. It sounds like the Zong does not have the exact same number of parts as the TW, but apparently the Zong equivalents will work.

If you can get the parts, I will be happy to do the test fit on your bike.

Brian

Well that did not work. He is a software translator so he does not speak the language. If he needs a translator it is big $... His projects are not small $.
Bummer....

Onwards and upwards.

Hi Christdel,

Thank you for this information! If I understand you correctly, the internal splines of the TW kick lever do not match the external splines of the Zongshen kickstarter shaft. Is that correct?

Do the other Zongshen parts look to be the same as the TW parts?

Have you tried to install the the internal kickstarter parts to see if they will work? If they will work, then maybe only a Zongshen kick lever must be used. Did you happen to order one of those?

Thanks,

Brian

I do have several new Zongshen kick levers that fit the OEM TW splines

the supplier of my kicker shafts said ZS makes many different sizes of splines as they have many different bikes

Answer: Exactly, but I filed down the axis flutes to put the lever kick TW200 (photo)

Do other parts Zongshen seem to be the same as the parties TW?

Answer: Yes totally axis is delivered complete and the transfer pignon .
Only, not ship the oil seal.
For dimensions, there is a small difference of the diameter of the output shaft (0.05mm)

Have you tried to install the internal parts Kickstarter to see if they will work? If they go to work, then maybe only a kick lever Zongshen be used. Have you got to order one of these?

Answer: I will install it on a TW125, and say if it works well ..!
Lever Kick Zongshen is not currently available.
I made a request for the purchase of 2 kick lever Zongshen, I await their reply

The result after filing ...

If it works out, I need the whole shoot'n match so I'm in for at least two assemblies.
Since this thread started over 8 months ago with no real updated info, don't hold your breath!
