It should be on sale this weekend! and talking about sweet your picture.

I know this is an old thread, but looks like the MSR shifter for the YZ250 is NLA (no longer available). By chance, anyone have an old one they are sitting on and not using? Discovered today with my new riding boots that shifting is near impossible...so definitely need a longer lever.

"Plan B" is to go with the IMS one from Amazon that some have used successfully, but figured it was worth seeing if anyone had an MSR they wanted to part with first....

I looked at both when I was considering a longer shifter a couple years ago. It was a coin-toss, no real critical difference I could really see or tell.
Wear size 13.5 Forma Adventure boots, not an MX boot.

Much appreciated for the pics...definitely leaning towards the IMS since it's readily available. So I'm assuming you also had issues with the Adventure Boots trying to shift with the stock lever? Noticeable difference when you went to the IMS?

Well, That's a good question.

I had the IMS shifter a year before I got the boots.
Yeah... it was something I had to get used to. But it was the same on other bikes I've owned as well so nothing to do with the shifter.

Notice on a close-up of the packaging that a TW200 is NOT listed as one of the many bikes the shifter is for. Believe me, it works fine and is built better than the OEM one too.

Gave it a shot and ordered one up...will report back on what I perceive as the change when wearing riding boots once I get it installed.

I put the IMS shifter on my TW a couple of months ago. I believe it makes for a crisper, more deliberate feeling shift. Soon thereafter, I swapped out riding with Scarpa hiking boots to a pair of TCX Drifter boots. I rotated the shifter up one spline and it's perfect (or there about).

Yep, got my IMS installed today and test-rode....initially put it on the same orientation as the original, and while it was a *little* better still was tough to shift with riding boots on. Turned it up a few splines, and made a HUGE difference - now can shift reliably without issue!

I started wearing Alpinstar 10 boots. A little cramped with the factory shifter. I put on an IMS 313114 Flightline Folding Shift Lever. I am letting you know that the IMS 313114 Flightline Folding Shift Lever is the best shift lever in the world. Nobody should buy any other shift lever than the IMS 313114 Flightline Folding Shift Lever. Everyone with a TW 200 should put a IMS 313114 Flightline Folding Shift Lever shift lever on it.

...raise it up a spline.

I took Michael Bryce Winnick's advice and ordered a IMS 313114 shifter for my dub, after I nailed a stump and bent my shifter to a 180.. (bent it back easily by hand)
Installed it and raised it up a spline as advised. Went out for a ride wearing my Alpine stars to hit the bush. I could not shift 1st to second without repeated tries, for quite a few attempts. When I got home and looked, I found scrapes on the side cover, where the shiter was hitting, and obviously the contact was limiting my shift. The bolt slot position was correct on the shaft.
I removed the IMS shifter and placed it on a vice block, and gave it a rap with a solid rubber hammer as not to disturb the paint finish. Bent easily. Re-installed and it clears and shifts no problem. The swivel end however has a slight angle backwards now. Im gonna try it in the bush again, and see it its an issue other than be sight, before I go any further tweaking it.

After reading about the IMS shifter I went and ordered one since I was tired of having to wedge my foot in to shift. What a difference, for the better. Made enough of a difference I ordered a spare. Sure makes shifting with a Forma Adventure boot much easier.

Ron, grab the shifter with an adjustable wrench, while it's mounted on the bike... the larger the better... and bend at will… to whatever position clears. Start with the 'bent' portion and tweak outwards, then grab the 'straight' section and tweak until the tip points where you want. I had to do it immediately, as it didn't clear when installed.
Adjustable wrenches work great for tweaking square and flat stock as well as brackets, the flat wide jaws clamp down nicely, the bigger the wrench, the more leverage you have and you don't need to use hand strength or mar the surface like you would with a pair of slip jaw pliers.
